The staff went out of there way to prepare the room for an early check in.

Considerably over priced for quality of hotel. No bottled water available in the rooms or at the bar!!! Hotel in desperate need of updating. Room very small for price and what was advertised as a double room. Bed was very small for a double with two occupants.

The beaches hotel is directly on a beautifull beach, our room was facing the sea & it was lovely, the food at this hotel is excellent, we were really impressed, staff very pleasant & helpfull, good parking facilities directly outside hotel, & easy to travel around & see other resorts, would definately stay there again. We were a family with a 12 yr old & 15 yr old they enjojed every moment of our 3 night stay.

    Superb

We stayed in the Dylan Thomas Suite, the shower was the best I've ever seen in any hotel- the bed was extremely comfortable, and the breakfast had a lot of choice and was delicious. Very Pleased.

Unfortunately the outside of the hotel looks a bit dreary and doesn't do justice to the inside of the hotel. The lift was also a bit ropey.

    Fabulous

We found all of the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful. Joanne in Reception, was very warm, polite and helpful and made us feel very welcome. Though we stayed at The Beaches in December, it was clear, that the location of the hotel, being right on the beach, would prove an excellent location, especially during the warmer months of the year. Having said that, it was only a short drive to other local amenities in the area and would no doubt be an excellent base for families, walkers and explorers types. A large free car park, was available in front of the hotel and if disabled, there were several parking bays located immediately outside of the entry to Reception.

From our point of view, a more varied menu in the main Restaurant, would have proved a little more beneficial. As a recommendation, I would suggest that given the hotel's location, 'Welsh Lamb' should always be available - possibly as a 'local signature dish' etc. Also, something linking with the sea, such as scallops, mussels, fresh crab / lobster etc.. or even just a very tasty fish dish or two, would also be a nice touch. Having said that all parts of our selected meals were prepared well, the wine and drinks list was good. Both Anthony, the Chef and Stephen the waiter, provided excellent service.

Great service, friendly staff, great food. Couldn't have the breakfast as I had to leave early for work so they made me a packed lunch...

    Superb

I enjoyed the laid-back feel to the place most. Everyone appeared relaxed and enjoying their work. That is a pleasure to see

I was travelling with a band colleague who was also staying at the hotel. Unfortunately, when my husband called to speak with me, one of the male receptionists advised him that I had booked in with my partner and would my husband like to be put through to their room! As you can imagine, he wasn't very impressed. I'm sure this was a slip in the normal confidentiality practice but one that could have quite easily lead to misunderstanding.

    Fabulous

Please write at least 15 word It was very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I also liked the fact it was on the beach. I would definitely stay again.

The fact it was across the road from a holiday camp; I was woken once in the night by camp revellers. I don't know how it would be in the holiday season, I think I would insist on a room on the sea side of the hotel. The breakfast was reasonable but I didn't like the fact that white was still on the bacon from the thawing out process. Also I could have done with a bigger helping.

    Exceptional

Myself and partner both enjoyed the hospitality at the beaches. The location is fantastic also very peaceful. We booked bed and breakfast including evening meal which turned out to be the right choice because the food we thought was outstanding .The hotel was very clean and we liked the use of the pool ,sauna, steam room and gym.We would highly recommend the beaches and look forward to a return break and hopefully stay a little longer.

    Exceptional

The location of the hotel to the sandy beach was fantastically close with the other side of the hotel having panaramic views of the Welsh hillsides.

The 'kids' room housing the pool table, adjacent to the bar was rather disappointingly small.

    Fabulous

we brought our two grandchildren for an overnight stay in a family room. they loved the swimming pool and the family room was exceptionally good. the staff were very helpful.

  • 7.4
    Very good

location cannot be beat, right on the seafront - equally the front bar is also at the beach front - very nice rooms

service if you had dinner seemed dependant on how full the bar was - in otherwords the same people were serving bar meals as well as the restaurant, this meant sometimes a simple 2 course meal took an hour and a half to be served up!
